NIO FAR

Nio Far means "we are together." It refers to a way of living where community is at its center.

In West Africa, I noticed how natural togetherness feels. Life there is less about the individual and more about what you are together, where connection isn’t something you look for but something that already exists.

In the Western world, I experience that differently. We live close to each other but often pass one another by. Everyone seems on their way, busy with themselves, with achieving and moving forward. Sometimes it feels like we’ve forgotten what it means to truly live together.

With Nio Far, I want to show what it feels like when community becomes a way of life. The images reflect what I felt in the community of M’bour: the warmth, the laughter, the silence, the worries they carry together and the connection.
